Peter Chansky is a playwright born and raised in the mythical land of Central New Jersey, and is currently a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania resident enrolled in the MFA in Playwriting program at Temple University.
His one-act play Fair Trade had a public reading as part of the 13th Next Act! New Play Summit at Capital Rep in Albany, NY in April 2024. His 10-minute play Camouflage premiered at the 48th Annual Samuel French OOB Short Play Festival in August 2023.
His full-length play 19 Beacon Hill Drive had a staged reading at Randall Theater at Temple University in December 2023. His full-length play The Baby Shower has had staged readings at 61 Local and a workshop production at Wild East Brewing Co. in Brooklyn, NY.
His short film We’re All Fine was awarded at Couch Film Festival, Mindfield Film Festival, and NYLIFF.
His experience as an educator includes Horizon Theatre Company's New South Young Playwrights Festival and Temple University. He received his undergraduate degree in a self-designed major titled Philosophy of the Individual in Theater at Trinity College in Hartford, CT.
